Murchison falls National Park is where the African story begins with pride, the whole setting is full of thrilling adventures, with a rich biodiversity that contains iconic wildlife species that range from carnivores to herbivorous species, with over 100 different types of Mammals present in the open, the 451 bird species recorded in the Park making it an ideal destination for bird lovers.
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe Airport Kampala to Murchison falls National Park
Our Golden Age Travellers Safari guide will meet you from your area of pick up, be briefed about the whole Safari, Drive through the Kampala City-a city built on seven Hills. Drive out of Kampala, leaving the gridlocked traffic, the bustle and hustle of the city, behind. The road the scenery takes a different shape as we drive farther from the city through the Kampala-Luwero-Masindi Road to cover about 280 Kilometres in about 4-5 Hours.
Drive passed the memorable Luwero triangle where lots of people lost their lives during the liberation war that brought to power the current government, fighting against the dictatorial rule of the 1970’s and early 1980’s. We shall have a lunch stop at Masindi town and thereafter proceed to the park via the Kichumbanyobo gate having a stop at the top of the falls, Hike top of the falls to feel and taste the wrath of tumbling Nile waters that gushes over the rocks where it forms a bliss pool of water squeezing its way through a narrow gorge making a thunderous sound pouring downstream in a pool 7metres down. After the experience, continue to and check in your lodge to relax as we prepare for further exploration of the park the following day. Day 2: Explore Murchison Falls National Park
After an early morning warm up tea/coffee, you will transfer for a game drive to the northern bank in search of animals like: lions, leopards, giraffes, oribis, elephants, Jackson’s hartebeests, Uganda kobs, buffaloes among other animal and bird species. You will then return to the lodge in time for lunch and relax preparing for yet an exciting activity in the afternoon.
After lunch, transfer for a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where you will have the opportunity to view animals like; crocodiles, hippos, in the water and some on the river banks, while; buffaloes, waterbucks, and elephants are often seen on the river bank grazing and drinking water. You can have an option to hike to the top of the falls. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Delta Boat Cruise on the Nile Experience
Following a morning breakfast, you will head for a 4 to 5 hours boat trip to the Delta area famed for its high populations of game. You may view Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. You may decide to relax at the poolside at your lodge or just rest in your room for the afternoon.
Day 4: Enroute from Murchison falls to Kampala/ Entebbe Airport
After breakfast, we can choose between a game drive and driving back to Kampala to enjoy the city before it gets too dark. In case we missed the chance to visit the top of the falls, today is ideal for that and then head back to the capital city.
